Two people were killed in separate fatal crashes in Arkansas on the same day – Saturday, May 1, according to Arkansas State Police reports.
An all-terrain vehicle crash claimed the life of a child on Saturday at 5:40 p.m., police said.
It has been revealed that an unidentified girl was driving on Allison Road in Biggers when the All-terrain Vehicle lost control, slipped off the road, overcorrected, and overturned on the driver’s side.
The vehicle has been identified as a Polaris, 2016 make.
According to the police report, the weather conditions at the time of the accident were dry and clear.
The second of the two fatal crashes in Arkansas on Saturday happened at around 4:00 a.m. on Interstate 30 in Malvern.
A 36-year-old woman from Illinois lost her life in the two-vehicle crash. According to the police report, the deceased has been identified as Santos Garcia Alvarez, from Chicago Heights, Ill.
According to the police report, the deceased was a passenger in a Ford Escape, 2007 make.
The vehicle was headed westbound when it veered into the left lane and sideswiped another vehicle.
The other vehicle, identified as a Ford Transit, 2018 make, was also headed westbound.
The driver of Escape fled away from the place of the incident and struck a tree.
According to the report, the conditions were clear and dry at the time of the accident.
