Home » How Important Is Quality Auto Insurance? (Part 2)
This is the second article in our series to educate people on the importance of quality auto insurance.
For more information, please visit our first article.
Not only is the amount of coverage you purchase important, it is equally important to purchase from a trustworthy company.
You pay premiums to protect you in case you are injured or your car is damaged.
If you have not purchased auto insurance from a trustworthy company, then you may not receive payment when you need it the most.
Here are several situations where you may need an attorney if you don’t have quality auto insurance with a reputable company.
Every day, our law firm helps clients who are being treated unfairly by insurance companies.
Too often, the insurance company of the person who hit them is refusing to pay a fair amount.
This is when we can step in to ensure that they either offer a fair payment, or that they get sued.
Although it is the law in Arkansas to carry at least $25,000 in liability insurance, there are many instances where a driver does not follow the law.
Unfortunately, if you are hit by a driver who does not have insurance or assets, you may be left with severe injuries, property damage and no money to pay for it all.
To protect yourself, you should always carry Uninsured Motorist coverage, or UM coverage.
If you have this coverage, then your insurance can pay for damages you receive from an uninsured driver.
If the person who hits you causes more damage and injury than their policy covers, then you will need to rely upon your insurance coverage to make up the difference.
This is where Underinsured Motorist coverage, or UIM coverage comes into play.
UIM coverage is vital in car wrecks with significant injuries and damage.
Make sure that you and your family are adequately covered in case a driver who hits you does not have enough insurance.
If you are at fault in a car accident, you need quality auto insurance.
The other driver may choose to sue you if your insurance company does not offer them a fair amount.
Please keep in mind that even though you may want your insurance company to pay the other driver to avoid a lawsuit, it doesn’t mean that the insurance company will pay.
If you have insurance from a trustworthy company with a reputation for paying valid claims, then your chances of being sued are reduced.
