Head-On Crash on US 278; Two Drivers Killed

On Thursday morning, earlier this week, i.e. the 10th of June, 2021, two men lost their lives in a two-vehicle Head-On Crash on US. 278.

According to an Arkansas State Police report, the Head-On Crash on U.S. 278 occurred at 10:53 a.m. on US 278 in Nashville.

The crash between the two vehicles occurred when 45-year-old Jamal Staves’ vehicle, a 2012 Cadillac crossed the centerline and collided head-on with 68-year-old Patrick Byrne’s 2015 Chevrolet.

The accident occurred at around 10:53 a.m.

Staves, who hailed from Nashville, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Whereas, Byrne has been reported to have died later once he was taken to Howard County Memorial Hospital.

It has also been reported that a child, who was a passenger in the Cadillac was also injured.

The report also states that at the time of the crash, conditions were clear and dry.

Moreover, according to another state police report, another accident occurred early on the same day when a Sheridan man, aged 31, died in a single-vehicle crash on Grant County Road.

A 2003 Hyundai Sante Fe North, which had Jeremy Kumpe as the driver, struck a dear at 5:35 a.m. and overturned.

According to reports, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene. Conditions at the time of this crash were also clear and dry according to the report.

Unfortunately, Arkansas has seen fatal car accidents for a very long time and it seems that this number is not decreasing in any capacity.
