Heading into the July 4 holiday, 4 people were killed in crashes on state roadways.
One tragic accident occurred on Thursday at 4:50 p.m.
Santos Chaves, aged 24, from Marked Tree was traveling east on Arkansas 14 when his car, identified as a GMC Yukon, 2005 make, hit two Ford pickups.
Chaves died at the scene of the accident.
The driver and passenger in the F250, 2018 were injured.
Among the injured were Steven Hicks aged 38 from Texas, along with two kids aged 5 and 7, and a 10-year-old kid with Chaves.
All were rushed to St. Bernard’s Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro.
No injuries were reported in the Ford 350.
The weather was rainy and as a result, the road was wet.
Another unfortunate one of the crashes on state roadways occurred on Interstate 430 at 10:40 p.m.
A man fell from an overpass and was struck by a Ford XPL, 2018, Toyota Camry, 2009, and a Dodge Challenger, 2015.
The deceased was identified as, Kailon Tatum, aged 28 from Markham Street.
The weather was cloudy and dry at the time.
A crash was reported on Friday at 2:12 p.m. Ronald Carden, aged 49 died in an accident.
His car, a Dodge, 2001 collided with a Ford, 2013 make at U.S. 64.
The collision forced Carden’s vehicle to strike a tree.
The weather was clear and dry.
Another accident occurred at 10:10 a.m. on Saturday.
A man identified as, Desani Neal, aged 22, lost control of his car, a Chrysler PT Cruiser, 2003 on Interstate 30 in Benton.
The vehicle rolled over and struck concrete barriers.
Passenger, Hanna Richard, aged 19 were injured and taken to Saline Memorial Hospital
